BARplast LLC has entered into a strategic distribution partnership with Toray Resin Co. for the TI-5000® Series of polyamide-imide materials, further expanding its portfolio of high-performance polymers for customers across North America. Through the partnership, BARplast will provide customers with access to Toray’s TI-5000® Series, a family of high-performance polyamide-imide materials engineered for demanding applications requiring exceptional mechanical, thermal and tribological properties.
Polyamide-imide is among the highest-performing injection-moldable polymer families available for continuous use in challenging operating environments. With a heat deflection temperature of approximately 535°F, TI-5000® materials offer an excellent combination of stiffness, fatigue resistance, low creep, wear resistance and electrical insulation performance while retaining their mechanical properties at elevated temperatures.
The TI-5000® family includes multiple grades developed for application-specific requirements. The portfolio comprises unfilled materials, glass- and carbon-fiber-reinforced grades for enhanced mechanical performance, and internally lubricated wear grades containing PTFE and graphite for low-friction dynamic applications.
The addition of TI-5000® further strengthens BARplast’s growing portfolio of specialty and high-performance polymers, which includes PEEK, thermoplastic polyimides, thermosetting polyimides, polyamide-imide and polyetherimide.
