BARplast LLC, a subsidiary of the Germany-based BIEGLO Group, has recently added GIMIDE™ polyetherimide (PEI) from Indian manufacturer Gharda Polymers, a strategic business unit of Gharda Chemicals Limited (GCL), to its North American product portfolio. Serving customers in the United States, Canada and Mexico, BARplast is expanding sourcing options for high-performance polymers and supporting manufacturers seeking to diversify their supply chains.
With GIMIDE™, BARplast provides an additional source of PEI for industrial applications where consistent material availability, reliable procurement and supply chain flexibility are essential.
Polyetherimide is a well-established amorphous high-performance thermoplastic offering high temperature resistance, good mechanical properties, dimensional stability and excellent electrical insulation. Typical applications include electrical and electronic components, industrial equipment, automotive applications and aerospace. Various GIMIDE™ grades are supported by regulatory and technical documentation, including TSCA compliance and certificates of conformity for certain food contact applications.

Typical uses include aircraft interior and electrical components, connectors, housings, insulation parts, fasteners, and lightweight structural components.
